Wellbeing/ Moriah Psychology Team
At Moriah College, our mission is to cultivate well-rounded individuals who thrive academically, personally, and spiritually.
The wellbeing of our students and staff is a top priority. We strive to create a positive, collaborative, and inclusive environment where students can grow.
Our team of psychologists is always on hand to support students through the ups and downs of High School life, whether it’s managing study stress, navigating friendships, or dealing with mental health concerns. They offer assessments, short-term support, and can connect families with outside professionals if needed. We offer a welcoming, easily accessible safe space where students can talk to someone or simply take a quiet moment to unwind.
Our school psychologists:
Irit Bennissan - High School Counsellor (Years 10-12)
Tammy Suchard - High School Counsellor (Years 7-9)
Jo Jacobson - ELC & Primary School Psychologist (Years K-2)
Courtney Karpin - Primary School Psychologist (Years 3-6)
Moriah College is delighted to be the home of Quest, a beautiful black Labrador, as the a member of the Wellbeing team.
Quest, a 'paw pal,' will be working alongside the school psychologists to support students. Trained by Guide Dogs Australia, Quest's calm presence will assist students immensely, making her a valuable asset to Moriah College.
Teachers serve as mentors for small, Year specific groups, meeting every morning for 15 minutes after prayers. This daily checkin supports holistic development, tracks academic progress and gives students an opportunity to hear about activities and events. This consistent interaction fosters an environment of trust and safety, helping students feel grounded so that they can thrive both academically and personally.
